038. Youth Futurity Project with APHA
Join us on this episode of On the Rail Podcast as we chat with representatives from the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) about their Youth Futurity Project. This initiative is a fantastic chance for young horse enthusiasts to showcase their training and horsemanship skills with their yearling or 2-year-old futurity horse project at the 2023 APHA World Championship Show in Fort Worth, Texas, from June 24-27.
Our guests detail the eligibility criteria for the project, the entry fees, and the classes available for participants to enter their horses. Hi, and thanks for having me on the podcast! I'm a college student, a longtime equestrian, and perhaps most relevant for this episode, a state director for APHA. I've been a part of APHA and AjPHA leadership since my early youth years and have assisted with the Youth Futurity Project from the first time it was proposed through this, our second year of hosting the event! As a former youth exhibitor who is now a trainer, I think that programs like this are vital to the future of our organization and industry, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this one.
